From nbc.com/passions...
Fancy and Noah just returned home to Harmony, where their shocking identities were revealed - she is Julian and Ivy Crane's daughter, and he is Noah Bennett! "small talk" fired off some random, sometimes silly, questions to "Passions'" newest cast members, Dylan Fergus (Noah) and Emily Harper (Fancy), to get them to reveal a little more about themselves. Read on to learn what this fun-loving, gregarious duo has to say about ripped boxers, DDR and "Foah"...
Dylan Fergus (Noah Bennett)
What were you told about the character when you were hired? Did you know you were Noah Bennett?
No, not at all. [The show] told me that I very much did not like the Cranes, that they had slighted me in some way. All I knew was that I had this underlying hatred for this family and that it was justified for some reason.
Noah's an expert gambler. What's the most you've ever won gambling?
I've lost a lot of money gambling, but I haven't actually won a lot. One night after work, I was playing poker with a bunch of friends and I lost $700. (Smiles) The most I ever won gambling was this job.
As Noah, why didn't you come home when your sister was trapped in hell and your house got sucked into the earth? Don't you think Sam could have used your help?
The communication between Harmony and Noah was probably not too good. Instead of his dad and sisters calling to say, "I'm trapped in hell," they probably said, "You know, we're in a little bit of trouble, but it'll be okay, just keep working." I think the Bennetts were all kind of hoping Noah would turn into a doctor and kept him away from the crazy stuff.
Any embarrassing "Passions" mishaps?
I have this pair of boxers where the elastic on the hip was ripped. So I went into a "Passions" fitting for Wardrobe. I was changing and there are like 8 people there, and they all noticed that I had these ripped boxers. But I like them. They are comfortable.
What summer movie are you most looking forward to?
I just saw Mr. And Mrs. Smith. It was great, it was fun. The quips were great. I dug that. And of course, Angelina Jolie...
Do you have a nickname for Emily?
(Jokes) I used to call her Beautiful, but then she slapped me. I used to call her Gracie. When we first started working together, she wore this blue dress. Talk about drop dead gorgeous. Absolutely stunning. I asked if she ever saw that Hitchthingy movie, "To Catch a Thief." She looked exactly like Grace Kelly. Emily's so graceful and so beautiful.
Once you and Emily reach supercouple status, which name would you prefer - Nancy or Foah?
Can we go back to Ned so it can be Fed? Foah works.
What one word describes Emily?
Focused. She has the ability to be very focused on her work. However, Emily does switch to being very focused at play, too. She's focused in the context of whatever she's doing at the moment. Sometimes she even zooms in on things you don't want her to, like the fact that I messed up that last line! Today [during taping], I said my line and then she looked at me and said, "Are you going to finish it? The rest of your line is..." And then she told me what the rest of the line was! (Laughs) She just wanted to get to the part where she kisses me.
Who or what is your passion for life?
Quality. I'm one of those people who gets turned on by those little things in life that you surround yourself with. This is not a monetary thing, it's the quality of things like friendship, the quality of food, and the quality of... food. As for "who," it would be my family. I have a lot of small children in my large family. It's really great to spend time with them. They keep you alive without having to go do something drastic... like getting married.
Emily Harper (Fancy Crane)
What were you told about your character when you were hired? Did you know Fancy was going to be a Crane?
No, I definitely didn't know she was going to be a Crane. Her name was actually Alicia when I auditioned for her. [The show] said nothing about the family dynamic. However, they did say I was a billionaire and seasoned traveler.
Fancy seems to take after Paris Hilton... do you fear a Carl's Jr. commercial in her future?
(Laughs) No, I haven't thought that far ahead. I wouldn't mind, although I don't know if I'd approve of it on daytime TV!
Who was your childhood celebrity crush?
Ralph Macchio, who was the Karate Kid. I wrote about him in my journal when I was in third grade! I remember vividly, I had his poster on my wall.
Fancy wanted a bad boy - do you, Emily, prefer bad boys or good boys?
A combination - and it does exist. It has to be both, meaning they can take risks in life, they have a little edge to them... maybe a little darker side, a few skeletons in the closet. But then they are also stable, grounded human beings that are driven, that can focus. Good morals. So kind of a combination.
You were a Los Angeles Laker girl. Do you kick butt at Dance Dance Revolution?
Oh, God, I love that game! I could play forever. They get up to some levels that are so hard with the timing and rhythm. The first time I played it was actually with a lot of other Laker girls, so we were pretty competitive about it. But yeah, it's fun.
What songs are getting the most play on your iPod right now?
The Killers. That one song (sings), "I got soul, but I'm not a solider." ["All These Things That I've Done."] Their whole album is so good. I also like hip-hop a lot, like T.I. I've also listened to some Tim McGraw lately. I've just recently in the past few years started to appreciate country music. Dylan and I have talked about jazz, old school stuff... I love all kinds of music.
Once you and Dylan reach supercouple status, which name would you prefer - Nancy or Foah?
I kind of like Foah. Just because Nancy's a real name. Can it be Crennett?
What one word describes Dylan?
It's hard to describe Dylan in one word. Two words that come to mind are talented and charming. Both the character of Noah and Dylan himself. He's a hard worker, he always comes prepared. The talent was obvious from the get-go. The charming sensibility helps make the workplace better for everyone, both cast and crew. Personable. Is that three words? It's becoming a novel. Very witty. Great sense of humor. [small talk has to cut Emily off here since she's not playing by the rules! small talk said one word!]
Who or what is your passion for life?
Performing arts. I've always loved acting, singing, dancing. I love the arts and that's something I'm passionate about. As far as people, my family and friends. (Pause) And chocolate.
