America's fastest growing daytime drama received five Daytime Emmy nominations, in both the main and technical categories, for the 30th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
"Passions" was nominated for Emmys in the following categories:
Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team with James E. Reilly, head writer and Peggy Schibi, Roger Newman, Pete T. Rich, Maralyn Thoma, Nancy Williams Watt, N. Gail Lawrence, Shawn Morrison, Marlene Clark Poulter, Darrell Ray Thomas, Jr., Kathleen R. Robinson and Chris J. Robinson, writers.
Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team with Peter Brinckerhoff, Grant Johnson, Jim Sayegh, Karen Wilkens, Phideaux Xavier; Directors. Tina Keller, Robbin Phillips, Paul Antonelli, Mary Ann Benson and Steven Vincent; Associate Directors. Roy Friedland, Michael Caron and Michelle Azenzer, Stage Managers.
The 30th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, where the above two categories will be included, will be broadcast on ABC from Radio City Music Hall on Friday, May 16, 2003 from 8:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (ET).
Additionally, "Passions" received three nominations for the Creative Craft Daytime Emmy Awards:
Outstanding Achievement in Casting for A Drama Series with Jacklynn Briskey, casting director. This nomination marks Jackie's second consecutive Emmy nomination for casting "Passions."
Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series with Paul F. Antonelli and Ed O'Donnell, music directors. John Henry Kreitler, and Wesley B. Boatman, Jr., composers.
Outstanding Original Song for "Forever Near" with John Henry Kreitler and Faith Rivera, composer/lyricists.
The Creative Craft Daytime Emmy Awards, in which the casting, music direction and composition and original song categories are included, will be presented on Saturday, May 10, in Los Angeles at the Sheraton Universal Hotel and simultaneously in New York at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.
