Tracey Ross (Eve) and Marla Gibbs (Aunt Irma) have been nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series, for the 36th Annual NAACP Image Awards. This marks Ross' seventh NAACP Image Award nomination, her sixth for her role on "Passions." Marla Gibbs has previously received eight NAACP Image Awards.
"All of us at 'Passions' are elated that both Tracey and Marla have been recognized for their performances during 2004," said Executive Producer Lisa de Cazotte. "We pride ourselves on bringing a realistic cast to the canvas, an authentic representation of cultural diversity and talent."
"Tracey Ross has been doing award caliber work in her role as Dr. Eve Russell since the very beginning of 'Passions,'" said NBC Universal Television's Senior Vice President of Daytime, Sheraton Kalouria. "It's wonderful for her and the newest addition to the Russell Family, Aunt Irma, portrayed by the legendary Marla Gibbs, to be recognized in this prestigious manner."
